Do you unplug your telly at the end of the night?

I tend to leave everything plugged in. My dear old mum used to insist on unplugging the telly, just in case we had thunder and lightning during the night. She worried that lightning would strike the telly and it would catch fire.

I switch my microwave oven off when I'm not using it. I read on here - leaving it switched on (with electricity being used to display the clock) uses more power than the actual cooking/warming up/defrosting or whatever.
Hey, that's a good money-saving tip. Does anyone have anymore money-saving tips?
