Blanche symbolised a character who was credible and very believable with some great one liners over the years. Most of us have met an old battleaxe but blanches character was more perceptive and could be very 'cutting' with her remarks. I particular remember how she dealt with Ken when she found out that he was having an affair, with Stephanie Beacham on the barge, and that face she pulls whenever she found out a secret about something or someone. She could definetly teach a lot of her peers about acting. In my opinion she represented a great actress who captured your attention. The female version of Victor Meldrew but with class. She will live long in my memory. God bless you Maggie Jones.

I am very sad at the loss of Maggie Jones. She was a wonderful actress and Blanche was a wonderful character. She made every scene she was in, even if she was not speaking. Her expressions said it all.
She was the best.
