All through the episodes I was saying those guys have gotta go,surely, and despite failing all the tasks and not being able to cook the blondes go and win it. Ridiculous programme, shan't bother watching the next series. Who should have won it?

WHAT??!!!! Please tell me you jest.
I've missed it for the past couple of weeks due to other commitments, but for them to win it is a travesty.

sorry to spoil it for you,you shouldn't have looked.Yes it's true and their performance got worse in the last few episodes. They totally screwed up all the tasks and laughed about it. Why didn't they just open a coctkail bar and leave the other contestants to battle it out? I think Raymond is mad.
You didn't spoil it for me at all :)

You're right, Raymond has lost the plot.
Completely agree ganesh, couldn't believe that those two didn't go out earlier. The complete mess up they made of the sorbet and souffle at the banquet. Just because they produced a dessert type cocktail, so what?
I love Raymond Blanc, can't believe he chose those posers.
Felt really sorry for the other Chef but felt that his front of house partner let him down every time and maybe that is why they lost. I still could not believe Raymonds choice though.
I wont be watching it again either. I don!t know how someone who never cooked won.
I stopped watching it after the first two weeks because I didn't think any of the couples were any good but tuned in last night to see who won. I was gobsmacked when he chose those 2 dimwits! I agree though that in the other pair the chef was really good but Nathan was so rude to customers in the shows I had watched I was really surprised that they were in the last 2. However I do think that they should have won last night. At least they got all the food out and most of it was good.

I don't think their restaurant is going to be open for long.
What a complete farce! They were so slack! And the kitchen guy (JJ?? James??) completely winged it the whole way through. As he said though, he was hoping that Raymond was not looking for a chef, but someone to run a successful restaurant. Good luck to him then. We really wanted Rebecca (?) and her fella to win. Forget their names. The biggish couple who went last week. They seemed really genuine.

Yes I agree .out of the last three the chubby pair should have won,he was a good cook and she was a friendly front of house.I still think that the two young girls got a raw deal with the site of the restaurant and the fact that their oven didn't even work! And the semi-veggies got knocked out right at the beginning for just wanting to do locally sourced food ( probably coz Raymond had already ordered those rabbits!!)
I kept saying(after series 1 ans 2 of The Restaurant) that I wouldn't watch series 3,but I did.
I hoped that the dimwitted Raymond Blanc would at last choose a sutiable couple.
This time he has gone right off the rails!
Two Cocktail Waiters(essentially) win, when the one that should cook can't,and doesn't seem to want to?
This just proves to me that modern restauranting is all style over content,it's not what the food tastes like,it's what the ambiance is like and what the food looks like, never mind if it's indeble!
I hope Msr Blance has better luck with this couple.
Series 1:~ Married Couple fell out after 6 weeks in their restaurant and went their own ways.Blanc had to install a manager.
Series 2:~ Married Couple gave up after 2 months in theur restaurant as they had decided that "running a restaurant was too much hard work"!
Series 3:~
We wait and see.
Maybe thaey should go and work for the obnoxious idiot,Heston Blumenthal, where childish entertainment takes the place of food.
PS:~
I have come to the conclusion that ALL these programmes are a fix,and just a good way for Blanc to get money from their production,AND free publicity!
And from Licence payers,Mr.Veritas.
Very true Everhelpful!
Haven't watched any of the subsequent series after his shocking decision in the first one. How he chose Jeremy and Jane over the two girls (whose names escape me) was one of the most incredulous and disastrous business decisions ever made.
Jane was possibly the most emotionally fragile and unstable woman I've ever seen. Apparently they only lasted a coupe of months so his latest decision hasn't come as a shock to me.
The man is obviously a poor judge of character!
Hi all, I missed the last episode so did not know who won, I am not surprised to hear it was the blonde guys. To be honest I agree with other views that all the contestants on this years show were quite poor, I too liked the chubby couple, they were married wern't they and not brother and sister? They looked so alike, I know that you tend to unconsciously choose a partner that looks like you, but that is an extreme case!
I did not like Nathan, the front of house finalist as he was so rude to the customers sometimes, his chef partner was good, but Nathan let the team down.
Raymond Blanc commented in the semi final that the blonde finalist chef (James?) had an extremely good palate and that you could teach technique, but a good palate is something that not all chefs have. Therefore he obviously has a lot of potential that Rayond Blanc can unlock. Also they are very commercial and the front of house guy was excellent with customers.
Hopefully the final will be repeated at some point and I can catch up with it!
Cheers Sue

I know he liked him from the start,he said as much despite the other 2 judges calling them useless blaggers. Why bother with the tv tasks if it didn't matter if you beggered them up? It made the whole series pointless!Wait till you see the last episode, they screwed up so badly that I imagine there was a 'no way' in every house when Raymond chose them.
I think the apprentice is much better television!
