About 5-6 years ago I remember watching Clive Anderson's show with the Gibbs brothers as guests. During the interview C.A. made a comment that upset the eldest brother Barry, who walked out of the show, making a comment that was not heard by the viewer, followed close at heel by Robin and Maurice. Does anyone know what C.A. said that angered them?

Anderson had introduced The Bee Gees on his All Talk show and revealed they were once curiously called Les Tosseurs. He joked: 'I think you will always be ******* to me.' The brothers sat stoney-faced and things went from bad to worse when Anderson cracked his next gag about a song they released called Dont forget to remember. He said 'I've forgotten it already.'

Barry stood up and fired back, 'This is a set-up. If anyone is a ****** round here, it's you, pal.' The trio then stormed out after just five minutes on camera.

If memory serves me right, C.A. also mentioned at one point that he thought the Gibbs were sisters, not brothers!!

Clive got what he deserved. I have never found him funny and found his interviewing technique gutless and immature. Well done Gibbs!!!

If I remember correctly one of the brother wasnt taking his humour too badly. He seemed as shocked as Anderson did and said 'I better go too clive cos I cant do impressions of them two'. I think it was the one who died.

It was definitely the les tosseurs comment. Although I think the Beegees came on in a bit of a strop from the start. The brother that remained was definitely a bit shocked by the other 2 walking off, and only went because he was embarassed.

I was deeply impressed. I have always disliked Clive Anderson's 'interview' technique, which consists of either interupting with 'smart' comments, or simply waiting until the interviewee has stopped talking so he can start. Anderson's conversation carries the hallmark of the ignorant non-listening vacious self-centred conversationalist - he peppers the responses he is not listening to with 'Yeah.....yeah ....' at irregular intervals. Why anyone imagines he is appealing as a chat show host remians a mystery to me. the Bee Gees, by comparison, are giants of their craft, and treated Anderson's petty insults with a dignity his nonsense did not deserve - they walked away. Yipee - more please!

I too noticed that Maurice Gibbs didn't take the comments that seriously. It was actually the other two who took offence. According to the Bee Gees biography, Maurice is supposed to have been the peacemaker, the glue that kept the other two more temperamental brothers together.
