I phoned to give Oliver a good home as I am at home all day but never had a reply, but I am just a common type I suppose.

Actress Kym Marsh and her fiancé Jamie Lomas have adopted a three-month-old abandoned puppy after spotting him in a This Morning TV appeal.

The retriever-cross named Oliver was just one of several abandoned dogs found by the RSPCA and other animal charities featured on the ITV daytime show.

The Coronation Street star, 33, was watching the show from home and immediately fell in love with the cute puppy.

Hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby announced during the show that Kym had phoned in and said the RSPCA would be vetting her first before deciding if she was a suitable owner for Oliver.

Who will look after the dog when they are working away, the nanny?
