I have my Iphone connected to the computer .......

I was downloading stuff from the IStore - now when I take the connection out I cant turn my phone on - when I press the button at the top (that turns it on and off) and the button at the bottom in the middle together - I eventually get the itunes logo and a picture of the connection cable - any ideas - in plain english if possible thanks.

it wants you to connect it to PC again. was it updating software when you took it out?

mine did this months ago. It took 2 days of resetting and running software upgrade before it would work again.

mine did the same,it had a virus i had to take off all the stuff i had downloaded then it started to work.its a blimmy inconvenience..hope you get it to work.

make sure you ask it to back up when it reloads software. You may manage to save some of your info then.

Perhaps the drivers on the IPhone needs updating? Maybe if you plug it in the computer again it will update. I'm just guessing this might be the reason why; hopefully some techie person will soon appear to help you.

Its giving me the option to restore to my original settings but I will lose all my numbers if I do that - wont I ?

i think that it does back up as much as it can rescue as it does it.

I understand your desperation, Peri. I feel the same whenever I play-around with my computer and it gets messed up. Hope someone soon come along to rescue a damsel in distress. :-)

well you have little choice but to restore if it wont let you do anything else. I am fairly certain that it does save what it can from the phone first though.
if it will let you synch in any way then try to synch to an address book though first

I met a friend for coffee this morning - she looked at my phone and told me I should go to the istore and get the free downloads - eg skype, facebook etc. and showed me them on hers. And this is the result !!!!!!!

how long have you had the phone and have you ever upgraded the software on it?

facebook is an application available on the apps store on the phone. If you have got the apps store on your phone then its an old one like mine

pericat... two options for you to try..

1.try charging the phone and see if it will switch on.

2. take out the battery and sim card and leave it to rest for a while.
