Is anyone else sick of all the reality and talent shows on the box. There are also far too many "stars" going off on jaunts around the world. Whatever happened to good quality drama and comedy.

Add to that, they export well, and you have money-making optiont which will always take precience over 'quality' TV. Thank hevens we still have the BBC who is not only not dependent on revenue for its output, put has a built-in remit to make decent television.
Yes, they do have a remit - it's in the terms of the Licence Agreement.
That said, they do have to make a proportionof popular output as well, as a business decision - exports bring money - as well as ensuring that everyone who pays the licence gets a fair crack at watching what they like.
No-one can ever please everyone, but i for one think the BBC does a good job. You can always be selective with what ever channel you view.
