Did anyone watch this last night, Seven Ages of Britain, presented by David Dimbleby?
If you didn't there is another chance to see it tonight BBC2, 7.00pm.
This looks like it will be a superb series, giving us a chance to view close-up, historic memorabilia that perhaps we would never normally see.
I know this as nothing to do with the above, but what I would like to see on television is a series of programmes showing us how things are manufactured.
A good start would be, 'how the modern motor car is made'.
While agreeing that it promises to be a great series, I couldn't believe my eyes when it showed David Dimbleby looking through unique ancient books with his bare hands, surely someone should have insisted he wore gloves, as he did later in the programme when inspecting a gold relic.
There used to be a series on Discovery Channel (?) which showed in detail how common items are manafactured. Haven't had cable for a couple of years so it might still be running...
