anyone know what this film is called?!?

Hi this will be a challenge for you. About 15/20 years ago I watched a film on tv and I have been trying to find the name of it for the last 10 years! It was about two children whom one night (I can't remember why) their cat & dog change into humans and they go on an adventure & the only things I remember are that they meet up with their dead grandparents & it ends where they meet their future sister to be. Any ideas?!? I would be very grateful

I think you are talking about the Blue Bird - it starred Patsy Kensit as the young girl and Elizabeth Taylor was the mother - but this film didn't just have the dog and cat changing but inanimate objects like the bread, sugar, milk and fire and water changed too
