Comming up! after the break!.....aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!

Just about every show on TV does this now, at the start they'll play all the highlights then just before and after evry breal they'sll show you what's comming up. Makes my bl00d boil, I want to watch a show from start to finnish and nt know what's comming up. This way I get the key content in the first few minutes no need to watch the rest! Why has just about every non drama show started to do this? Surely it just angers people, especially me! Is it to keep the chavs interested or something? They never used to do this what changed?

It's to catch the attention of the channel hoppers, to draw them in to a programme thay may not have watched before. It's just another form of programme trailer.

There's an annoying thing they do on the radio when it comes to shows such as the News Quiz or Just A Minute; just before the programme's about to start, the continuity announcer tells you who is taking part and then the very first thing that happens in the programme is that the participants are introduced. Presumably they have a few seconds to fill but it is just stupid.

i agree, a programme that is scheduled or 60 minutes actually turns out to be about 40minutes by the time you get adverts and the before and after announcements

I agree. it's insulting. They think we haven't got the attention span to remember what we saw before the break - which incidently is now more like 4 minutes than the 2 it used to be.

Why do the BBC programmes also do the same though? I have sometimes watched Heir Hunters and probably a third of the programme are "Still to Come" or recaps. Really annoying. I don't watch it anymore.

I worked out (I think) a while ago, that all the recapping is for when BBC programmes are later repeated on Sky channels, as places where the advert breaks can go.
