experimental law trials in soccer

Can anyone point me in the direction of ANY information regarding experimental law variations that have been tried in football (soccer) in the past?

I know that, before any laws become 'permanent', they are trialled in lower divisions and in some colleges throughout the world and then reports are written and submitted to the governing bodies and then passed to FIFA.
What I am looking for is any data concerning trials of experimental laws in the past (say in the past 20 years or so) and any reports on them, what was trialled, what was accepted and what was rejected and why.

Players not retreating/arguing etc over a free kick - ball moved another 10 yards forward - probably about 4/5 seasons ago now - I thought this worked quite well - trialled in the Football League for 2 or so seasons? Not taken up.

In the late eighties- early nineties ? the Welsh FA experimented with the rule that a player couldn't be offside if the ball had been played up to him from anywhere in his own half - i.e. long ball after long ball !
