I always thought he was such a prat, but having just viewed his 'goodby cruel world' speech on bbc on-line, I thought he came across as a really nice genuine chap.
All that Sian Lloyd and Cheeky Girl business made him look foolish... can't have done him any good?

Actually, reading through wikipedia's info on him, he sounds quite an interesting guy. Unfortuantely he will never now get away from the gormless boyfriend of the cheeky girl, or man maligned by the welsh weathergirl image......

Having seen quite a few progs with 'Lembit' (way to go Mr&Mrs Opik) he actually does/did make a lot of sense. It's such a shame that whatever he has to say is always overshadowed by his looks and or his love life.
The fact that as a politician his sex life is more interesting to the mass populous than what he has done in his role as an MP says more about the British people than it does about him.

Just as well we are all not judged as harshly because of our ex's eh?
