Do your pets greet you better than people sometimes?

Every morning without fail my Hannes Mccaw as in picture greets me with Good Morning every morning wnen I take her cover off.And the cockatiel says Hello. The minute the door bell rings or she hears the front door she shouts Who's coming. The only thing that upsets me is when she shouts my labrador that I had to have put sleep late last year and she tells him to go and wee come on go and wee wee.

Sometimes my cat makes a big fuss of me.

Sometimes he just pushes past and does what he likes.

The dog is pleased to see me. The goldfish seem totally indifferent.

I call my cat my furry alarm clock, every morning without fail she will jump on my bed and mieow until I give her some attention. The thing is she does it at the weekends too at 7am when I would like a lie in!

Your Hahn's macaw seems very light in colour. Is this the way the photo is taken or is it a lighter mutation?

Just compared colour with photo. She is darker and has fully red markings under her wings.

No Mercy lol that reminds me of HARVEY our Border Terrier he does that as well almost falls over he gets sooo excited. Love him

Tilly love him and cherish him .I miss my lovely golden lab . Had him put sleep in oct. He was a gentle giant all the kids loved him. He is still everywhere . I cannot bring myself to replace him.

I was house/cat sitting at my parents place. Woke up to find the female cat gently tapping my face and the male cat jumping on and off me! I think I got the message that breakfast was needed!

aww, they say hello that sounds so adorable and funny, but of course animals can't realy know what they mean, can they?

No I think it is something they associate with the time of day.

My dogs go crazy with excitement first thing in the morning. The german shepherd walks round in circles waging its tail. When the tail hits against the walls or furniture it makes enough noise to waken the entire household. I think the excitement is partley because they know they are about to get fed.

When I come back home my dog jumps up, wags his tail and tries to lick my face....luckily most people I know don't do this.

oh yes molly, they know they are greeting you (even if in their minds it probably means dinner!). My cat No 1 son knows the sounds of our car engines and jumps up to look out of the window if we take longer than expected opening the door, and he comes to greet us sort of shivering his tail as a welcome. (if the other cats do that with the tail it's usually a sign they're about to spray, but not with this one!)

When I got my last cat, George, I was working full time and he was used to being on his own all day. But in 2003 I had to give up work due to ill-health and I was in the house with him most of the time. When I did go out it would have been for less than hour and he would greet me at the door upon my return - he would say "meow" and then go back to do 'cat stuff'.

In 2006 I started doing voluntary work and the first time that I was out for a shift I was gone for about 6 hours. When I got home I got an ear bashing - he went on and on meowing, chirping, screeching etc for about five minutes. At one stage I walked away and he came rushing after me screaming at me. He wasn't too chuffed.

One of my cats has a think about jumping into my arms for a cuddle when I get in. She is more cautious now after an incident when she tried to climb up me for a cuddle when I was in the middle of getting changed and wasn't wearing anything...owwww!

Jenna I had something similar when No.1 Son was a kitten - he jumped on the side of the bath, when I was in it, but miscalculated....!
