I was miffed to see that Heroes is being axed by NBC. Apparently it went over its $4,000,000 budget per episode and the viewers had drifted away (less than 5,000,000). They are saying that the last series lost its way with Sylar being a goodie, that there were too many odd story lines with too many extra characters that never went anywhere - presumably the death of Nathan, Sylar being taken over by Matt, then the Claire/Gretchen thing, not to mention Samuel and the carnival!
What with that and 24 finishing there'll only be CSI and Lewis worth watching.

never really got into it so its no loss to me. i feel the same about lost, fast forward and 24. i guess i have a short attention span.
I loved the first year of Heroes, but felt that the rest was merely "watchable": every time they killed someone or changed their character it would inevitably turn out to revert back to the way it was a few episodes later.

There is talk of a "concluding" movie, but I thought that it was a good place to finish anyway.

Might I suggest you check out Fringe and Criminal Minds?

I was looking forward to the rumoured Global Frequency series, but things seem to have gone a bit quiet. If you can track down the pilot from the first time they tried to launch the show, it's well worth the effort.
Agreed, season one was good then it got silly... Too much giong on and obviously too much money being spent. I stopped watching CSI just after the Tarantino episode - which I enjoyed, must have got sidetracked by something else. Not sure what it will be like though without Grissom?!
How did you manage to acquire this information carolegif???
Because I didn't know anything about this until I saw your thread.
Oh no, I really liked Heroes.I never missed an episode since it first began.
Claire Bennett was my favourite female character in it, and Peter Petrelli was my favourite male character as he has some amazing powers.
How sad to know that it has finished.....even though it said in the Final episode of the latest series....TO be continued....
What a shame!! :( :(

I watched the first series and half of the second of LOST, but then it seemed to go on forever......as if they would never ever get rescued. In the end I was hoping this show would really get LOST!!!

I got that posted on my Facebook page. I'll be sad to see Heroes finish because I've watched every series and episode.

It was on the news yesterday morning. The two directors were sacked on Sunday and they thought that would save the series, but on Monday night they announced it wouldn't be coming back. Law & Order is axed as well, but I never watched that.
