Just read that ventriloquist Ray Allen has died. He was the 'guiding hand' of Lord Charles, the snooty puppet character. Always a great favourite of mine, he was one of the best.

I was his milkman for a while back in the early 1980's and met him a couple of times. A really pleasant chap. RIP
