Mechanical Flymo
1 Answers
I have owned a number of mechanical Flymos over the years and found that after a time the vibrations kept shaking the fuel tank loose or, indeed, broke the mounting which held the fuel tank onto the engine cover. Has anyone experience of using a more modern edition and would you recommend it for its structural and mechanical qualities? I am a great admirer of the work which the Flymo can do and its ease of handling. Thanks.

I believe, from memories of a previous life, that if you hold on a pencil or similar, spin it a balanced blade should come to rest in a horizontal position. If it rests at any other angle it suggests it's out of balance and causing the vibes. I think the Flymo is a very good machine but not necessarily for larger areas.
