What do i need to do to become a newsreader?

Im a full time student and my biggest dream job is to become a newsreader, but i dont know what i need to do to persue this dream!

First things would be media studies and current affairs knowledge, then elocution and control of spoken language.
And added to that although it's a bit of a cliche lots of them started by doing the weather.
Maybe some voluntary work on a hospital radio?
We could do the weather, Prudie ... Couldn't be any worse than the current crop, could we!?
Current trends indicate a requirement to be glamorous, too, so it seems (if you are female!)
We could. you could predict, design the maps etc and i have a posh voice!
I tell you .. I have a posh voice for a builder : )
I can do the "Posh Scafforders" routine (should you know it)
