I watched it years ago, it was scary but loved it!
If it was the David Soul version then it was good, quite spooky !
What a fab film! I also saw it years ago, so scary!
First time I was introduced to Stephen King. Who has terrified me many times since. I think Salem's Lot was the most scary thing I've ever seen on telly. My mum was going to read the book but I told her not too as its MUCH too scary to read when you live on your own. And its dark..
I half remember it. Was that the one where the sheriff practically ruled the town?
I read the book ads have always wanted to see the original film.... have never done so tho!!
Saw that years ago first and watched the re-runs recently. Terrified me for years after first seeing the boy float outside the window
Yes I remember Salems lot! It was made quite a few years ago and was terrifying at the time, the boy floating outside the window, the vampire jumping up by the bed of the guy in prison and so on. I saw it again not so long ago and it has dated a bit, but is still quite scary. It is reasonably close to the storyline in the book which is good in itself as normally tv movies just use the title and then make up their own storyline completely different from the book. SandyRoe, I don't remember it being the sheriff that ruled the town, I think it was the antiques owner who was the 'bad guy' intent on bringing the vampire into the town. The antique owner was played by James Mason who was a heart throb in his younger days!
