Downloading TV programmes legally

I watch very little television - although I have Virgin cable - and usually only channel 5 or Sky One.

When I miss something on channel 5 I usually catch it on Demand 5 on my MacBook. I don't get catch-up TV via Virgin as the service is, seemingly, not available in this area.

There are other programmes that I would like to watch old episodes of - mainly US police type programmes - NCIS, The Mentalist and some of the "cold case" type programmes. These are not available on Demand 5 (it seems that only current episodes are available).

I used to use Pirate Bay but never felt easy using this service.

Is there a legal and, hopefully, free way for me to download these programmes to watch them? I am willing to pay - but only if I really, really have to.

what about a dvd recorder or video recorder ,i have a freeview box with hard drive in it but not sure if you get the channels you want to record via the freeview would be worth looking into though

I have a DVD player (alas - not a recorder) and a video, the video is unpredictable and churns up tapes.

It is more of a case of me being too tightfisted to buy a previous series of a programme. I have started watching The Mentalist and as much as I enjoy it I don't want to pay for the set of DVDs for the first series.

So I want a site where I can sit and watch all the episodes from number one until the later ones.

Once upon a time if we missed a television programme that was it, no repeats and no video recordings. Life was simple them - and I am getting old! :-)
Just buy a Freesat or Freeview PVR.
is this any use http://tvshack.net/tv/ ?

I had a look at TVShack the other day and it looked ideal.

I couldn't sleep tonight and went to watch an old episode of NCIS. I found this -http://tvshack.net/index.html

I checked Google News and it seems that I am too late!

I will wait and see if this matter is resolved in my favour.

Ever since the down fall of megaupload and some other websites that let me watch tv shows online I have tried using torrent. One of the trusted site is: http://howtoaccesspiratebay.in/
