Only Fools and Horses

After all the football, watching some episodes of Only Fools and Horses still worth watching and still make you laugh, Del and Raquels baby being born was brilliant! They don't make comedy shows like that any more!

No there used to be some good comedy programmes, but nowadays there isn't one that I would make a point of watching. Even todays so-called comedians don't make me laugh.

I think I preferred the episode where Cassandra lost her baby and Del punched that whinging yobbo in the face. When he did that, he punched him for every one of us.

I don't think we could have cried and empathised with Del & Rodney in the later episodes without having gone through all the other, lighter times with them. They became like family to millions of us. Many comedies just can't do that these days. They don't seem to be able to get under the skin of the 'little man' somehow. Is that, I wonder, because too many of us have had less impoverished childhoods than the the writers of some of the best comedies?

Oddly enough, I've never found this programme funny and I know few friends who have.
This could be an interesting study for someone, are we attracted to people with similar likes and dislikes, most of my friends love House and I converted many to The West Wing!
