Given that this programme is aired at 1:45 Mon - Fri, and that some of its storylines have involved, for example, overt homosexuality, both male and female, is it the kind of viewing which should be broadcast at this time?

Today's storyline involved a guy who was a transvestite, or as his uncannily understanding wife referred to it whilst trying to calm their seemingly traumatised 20ish year old daughter looking at her dad dressed in female clothing complete with wig and make up, that her husband/man in a dress/daughter's father "suffers from a condition called gender dysphoria". Try explaining that to an over curious 5 or 6 year old, sitting there asking mummy or daddy what "gender dysphoria" is???

Young children would not be shocked at seeing two men kiss, unless they've been told that it is wrong or bad.
No more than they'd squirm at the sight of anybody snogging anyway.
No its the facts of life JL - It happens accept it!
Greedyfly.........2 'men' kissing is NOT I repeat NOT the same as 'mummy and daddy' kissing

One is wrong one is right
^ See ? :o)
I repeat JL

You are too closed minded for your own good and will have to accept that this is the world we live in whether you like it or not!
You love it don't ya Joe? :-)
You do amuse me Joeluke... You really do...
My son is 8 and has so far been successfully shielded from seeing such things......but the day he does ask questions he will be told straight (no pun intended)
And he will one day like I did realise what a bigoted father he has. School/tv/friends/life will teach him what is right in the end JL
Poor lad..............
Still let's hope he grows up to have a broader mind than his Dad.
Well lets just hope he has his own mind.

If I believed in everything my Dad did.....I would have been supporting the IRA at a young age...
er no Greedyfly.....his Dad will teach him what is right

No son of mine will be gay
It may already be too late.
You cannot teach someone to be be gay or not be gay. It is they way you are born.

I really hope I meet someone with similar views in real life one day.
Greedyfly, don't be naive, if you have males in your circle of friends/work colleagues etc then I can guarantee you that although they may seem to be 'modern men' and are cool about gays, there will be some among them who are secretly homophobic but obviously don't want their views known to you

So you HAVE actually met people with similar views
I'm sure there are Joe....I would say that there are many more who just don't care less though.

There are also people, like my Dad, who find it distasteful in general, but would never judge an individual person.
And if I was gay....he'd love me all the same. You see, he was a good Dad..!!
Yes ummm, but these people lie to their friends when asked their views on gays
Same as my Dad, ummmm
He loves me regardless.............I don't think he sees it as some sort of slur on his abilities as either a man or a father. His self-image is obviously not quite as fragile as joelukes :o)
There are also many blokes who adopt 'your' line, joeluke, so as not to be viewed with any suspicion by their mates...............when actually they are not quite as 'anti' as they may seem to agree to be.
