Is she Hurt?
My cat jumped on my lap while I was drinking a hot cup of coffee, made me jump I dropped the cup and it went all over the cat. She jumped off scarpered out the house and I haven't seen her.
The coffee was hot but not scalding, I don't know if she's hurt and I'm worried. I called and called her but still there's no sign.
Would her fur have protected her d'ya think? - She has really thick fur. or do you think she's somewhere licking her wounds.
When she does come back how will I tell if she is hurt.?

She's had a fright and is likely to hide for a while. When she comes back try and gently part her coat to see if there is reddening of the skin - again she may not be too happy with this. See how her general behaviour is - is she eating, drinking, walking around as normal. you've just got to wait a bit til you get to see her I'm afraid. hope it works out well
My two cats are brother and sister. The one in my current avatar is Frankie - his sister is long haired and she is stupid.
She set fire to her back/tail area by standing directly under a halogen light. I could smell burning and looked up to see her smouldering away. She was unscathed and totally oblivious to what was happening.
I am sure that your cat will fine, she is probably reeking of coffee and is away cleaning herself off. Stroke her all over when she comes back - if she is hurt you will soon know all about it.

She didn't come back all night even after constant calling. I didn't sleep very well as well as the heat I was worried about her.
This morning (5-30am) there she was on the back door step. All she was concerned about was food.
I did pick her up but there was no trace of coffee smell on her, in fact she smelt of lavender, I think she must have hidden near some lavender, I've had a look at her, handled her but no complaints. Sooo I think she's ok.
Thankyou all for your comments they were reassuring.
