Watching Big Brother at the moment (yeah I know!)
The participants seem to swear a lot in conversation,as they do every year!
Is this normal? I can hold a conversation without swearing every other word..
Can you???

I've never swore in front of my parents either!

That Nathan was the worst... every other world was a cuss!!
cant effing stand effing bl@@dy c@nting swearing
Couldn't agree more, WBA, I find all this incessant swearing completely unnecessary - but it seems that some people just can't speak any other way. Some of the people round this way don't seem to have any other adjectives to hand than the F word every couple of minutes.

But Hippy you are a fine woman..Can't imagine you swearing..Much :-)
It really depends on context, location and audience.

If I'm meeting a client, then I don't swear at all. Nor do I swear in front of older women, and most certainly never at them...

However, if I'm down the pub with my Geordie / Scottish mates, the air can get a bit blue...

Thank you WBA... I think I've picked you to be my next husband.... ;-) xxx
Now Mark, didn't you have a go at me a while back for saying more or less the same thing but including my 14 year old daughter in the group I wouldn't swear in front of? I believe you said - you can't have it both ways.

There is a time and place Mark...I certainly say a few things at a football match,if the Daughter isn't with me.

Ha! Cheers Hippy..Key under the mat?
I don't recall, Karen...
I'm reminded of the time that a friend of mine (who was on the support staff of a school for children with special needs) was walking back from the swimming baths to the school, with a group of children and their parents. One of the youngsters used an 'expletive' and my friend calmly explained to the child that it wasn't really nice to use that word. As she returned to the parents, the child's mother (without a hint of irony) said: "I don't know where he f*cking gets it from, I really don't!" ;-)

My own opinions about swearing are akin to those of Stephen Fry. i.e. I see absolutely nothing against it but I find the repetitive use of the f-word (or similar) incredibly tiresome.
who watches this cr@p?
Always!!! *mwah*
Millions of people, unfortunately...

At least this one is the final one, I'm led to believe...
wouldn't know Mark, I have never tuned in...
