OK then. From what I have read this 'lady' was given some very valuable jewels from the Ex-President of Liberia who is now on trial for war crimes. She seems to have distanced herself from the bequest of late.

She distanced herself from the bequest the day after she was given them, by giving them all to an African childrens' charity !

The crux of the issue is 'Did Charles Taylor have and use blood diamonds to further his own aims ?'.

As there seems to be a single provable (?) instance of this, i.e. Naomi Campbell receiving the diamonds from him........this is presently the matter before the court. Doubtless there will be other witnesses to other occasions when he was purchasing weapons and the spotlight will move away from the odious Miss Campbell.

countries whose natural resources include diamonds may flog them off to finance nasty wars. (Needn't be official countries, rebel groups may do the same.) So the suggestion is Ms Campbell has blood on her hands.

The silly girl couldn't resist a free diamond then found it wasn't as free as she thought and tried to offload it onto the next mug down the line.
The big question is did Charles Taylor the then president of Liberia give it to her. So far the jury is out ( well not yet but in a manner of speaking).
