I don't go out of my way to learn expressions that youngsters use but I have caught myself using a few (often tongue in cheek though) eg. "pwned", "what ever", "cool", "dissing", "laters". Though most irritate me, I quite like a few of them, mainly because I think they're funny.

I like and use whatever but can't work out when to use 'random'
Oh my life! My cousins says that one a lot :)
I still use 'crikey' 'ecky thump' and 'gosh' .
Whatever and laters are two of mine.
what's laters mean? Is it like, this aft?
Question Author
Oh yes, I forgot about "random" - I use that quite a lot too, I know exactly what it means (in the 'youf' sense of the meaning).
You just reminded me Jenna - "Oh my dayz!" is another.

An example of "laters/z" used in conversation:
"Ok cheers mate, see you tomorrow"
"..yep, laters"
("bye bye" in other words!)
Ah, the equivalent of "tara a bit" in Brum-ese then....

My grandchildren use 'cool' lots! Now I find myself using the word too!...........Must have rubbed off on me!...............lol..............
Duffers...
and boss...
Most of the yoof (and not so yoof) I hear in the street seem to have a vocabulary largely consisting of the F word....
Don't know whether you'd class it as 'yoof-speak' or not, but I once witnessed a young lady demonstrate to her friend how she was going to pose the next time she met the male object of her desire. The line went thus:

"Y'know when ah see 'im, riiiigghhtt, when ah see 'im, riiiigghhtt. riiiigghhtt, when ah see 'im, yeah, ahgoosani'is!", all uttered in the space of about half a second, during which time she simultaneously struck up the intended alluring pose.

I think, roughly translated, what she said meant, "When I see him, this is how I'm going to stand.
Gip, love it
Is gip now part of yoof speak too? LOL my nan used to say that all the time!

It's very rare (thank fek) that a youngster gives me a sideyways frown when I say something outside my generation, sad when it does though.
Here's an example of it in action:
