One novelty in digital photography is tilt-shift, for which editing produces a very limited field of focus together with slightly enhanced colouring and can make real-life subjects look like they are miniature.

Now someone has applied these techniques to some paintings by Van Gogh:-

Some are quite so-so but a few (such as the first one) do look very intriguing. Does anyone else agree?

I much prefer the paintings as they are but this has reminded me of my childhood View-Master and that was pure magic, so thanks for posting:)

I find tilt-shift to be such an interesting effect when applied to the right sort of image e.g.

this photo looks like dinky cars and toy characters no matter how often I remind myself that it is real people and vehicles.
Ooh, I like some of those bb, especially the Painter on His Way to Work and Red Chestnuts in the Park.
I had to check twice to make sure they were real people & cars too :o)
bibblebub I used "your" site for this suggestion http://www.theanswerb...s/Question946519.html :)

Do you mean Maru? It's only an "animals do the funniest things" video of a cat, and they are never the funniest things.
You like to shame people. THAT is sad. / Tonyted there's a blurriness to the pictures that sort of creates a 3D effect.
I love the effect, but I'm still stuck into my HDR photography.
Here's one I did earlier:
