I want a cover-up tattoo and really like (part of) this design http://tattoo-dragon-...gns-sailor-jerry.html it's the 2nd large pic near the bottom of the page, a colourful flower with grey tone leaves around it.

does anyone know a) where I can find similar designs and b) where there is a bloody fantastic tattoo artist who could do an excellent job of this?

I'm in St Albans, Herts but would travel (within reason) for a highly recommended tattooist.

thank you :o)

Sara, I'd guess that the best tattooists in the UK would be based in London. Why not google london tattooists and see whats available?
Sorry sara - can only help with tattooists in Belfast, but i guess that's a bit too far for you to travel. I'm sure someone else out there can help.
You're going to need more than 'part of' to cover that butt cheek...
mmmmm nice tatt..........

London is fine, Sandy.. it's just vast and they all think they're the best ;o)

20SC, thanks.. a bit too far x

snags, you think my bum looks big in this?
Question Author
do you like it, craft? it's the only one I've found that's really appealed to me, and just the main flower would be perfect for covering my tattoo.
Sara - why dont you make a trip here in Jan 2011 - have a look round and see who has the biggest Queue.....or ask some of the attendees....they will give good advice...

Sorry Sara, I am of the generation pre tatoos. Are there any alternatives other than a cover up tatoo?
Have a look at 'into you' based in Clerkenwell.
You can get one removed using laser treatment. But it's very expensive. It might cost more than 1K to remove a medium sized tatt.
Brighton has some excellent tattooists (well, they did when I lived there).
I do like it sara.....very different!
It's huge though --- I can't imagine having a tattoo, let alone as one as big as that. What happens when you want to wear a ball gown?
Question Author
20SK, thanks again.. they have something like that at Olympia in London. maybe I'll look into that.

Rosetta, no ;o)

sandy, I can't get it removed as there are too many colours, and it's been re-coloured about 4 times in an attempt to cover up their bodge job :o/ will look at that link, thanks.

cheers Boxy and thanks craft, I'm not finding many supporters!

ball gown? BALL GOWN??!!!

it's for the top of my arm, so little sleeves or a shawl type affair would cover it.

I already have a large tattoo on the other shoulder ;o)
Not a problem Sara - btw - i love that picture of the tattoo. I'll look out for others like it - but it looks pretty damm perfect to me.
Ah - thanks sara. Well you never know, you might Go to the Ball one day - I went to the Mayor's Christmas Party last year, lovely dress, turned out that Mrs Deputy Mayor was wearing the same one. (Mine looked better, of course - but we complemented each other on our good taste...)
Question Author
thanks 20SK, I do really like it.. which is important in the world of tattoos!

boxy, lol.. have done that myself in a restaurant. obviously I looked better, too ;o)

thanks all, am off to bed now. g'night xx
I've added this link to my favourites, there's a lovely tattoo on there I'm wondering if I could incorporate to the one on my back.
ian flower or claudia de rossi at newskool are well recommended, but they are based (as guets i think) in epsom, so a bit of a trek for you. as said, loads in london to choose from, mostly around frith street.
