Sky digibox

What happens if I have to buy a new digibox in Spain - will my digicard work in the new box or would I have to cancel the old subscription and start again (a pain as don't live in England).  Some people over here say that they have used other people's Skycards in their receivers and they have worked, am not willing to try mine in another box as it might get cancelled or something.  Does anyone know.
