Olbas Oil

Well, you learn something new every day.
I have used Olbas Oil before for colds,but having a viral chest infection I didn't think of using it for that.
A friend suggested I try (I am not good at taking advice!) but it was so bad I couldn't refuse.

After 2 days the infection may still be there(as such) but has been eased 100% by the oil (inhaliing in hot water0 all the phelgm which caused the hacking cough has been loosened and I can get rid of it.

So guys,than you for your time and advice(especially Sqad) I am now back to about 85% of my usual self.

Invictas is no longer infectious!

I find olbas oil capsules good but I must say once you've got through the first coating of sugar they're vile!!! but they do the trick especially if you're going somewhere you would feel embarassed by coughing your guts up ex a funeral, wedding, an interview....

invictas, i found steam inhalation of olbas oil combined with pholcodine linctus worked wonders on my cough over new year. glad you got it sorted :)

and ethandron I have tried Olbas Oil alone,but if it (sssh) comes back I will try your reccomendation of the linctus too.
You can't have too many weapons in the armoury against such conditions.

Alternatively you can put a few drops on a tissue and place it under the pillow at night, but dont forget and use the tissue as a handkerchief. Keeps the sinuses clear.

Talking of good advice try Vicks First Defence. It definitely works for me but unfortunately I didn't have any the last time I had a cold so I suffered a bit.
