Have to say that we have a fair few 'settled' travellers in our town and i'm familiar with their customs. My pal who isnt remotely from travelling stock has 2 girls to her man (that wasnt a slight btw) but she changed radically once she was embraced into the family. She watched her man bare chest fight with a guy and he was stabbed over 30times with a dart (wasnt funny although sounds pitiful) and she didnt step in as its not acceptabel -i wpould have been on the other blokes back!! We dont have anything to do with each other as she has ben indoctrinated now -and thats a fact. Her girls werent dressed like those girls -they are actually manky sadly.
They had the Irish travellers parked in the layby at the end of their road and her man (who worked with H) managed to shift them where the Police couldnt. The Irish are the last of the real travellers.
As good as the series is and i love it its not indicitive of travellers nowadays. We have 2 sites in our area but they are seriously diluted now.
