Hi

Does anyone know the address of the Von Trapp family's address in Austria. My mate is going to a party dressed a "brown paper packages tied up with string" and wants the address to put on the front! She has the stamps apparently!

Don't know what it was supposed to be called in the film - the back of the house was leopoldskron palace and the front was frohnburg castle, both in salzburg, austria. Think 'The Von Trapp Family Villa' Salzburg, Austria would probably be ok for the fancy dress.

I think Englishbird makes a good suggestion. It's certainly better than putting their current address, which is in Stowe, Vermont! When the family fled Europe they ended up settling there, started a music camp, some of them became missionaries before returning to Vermont and starting the Trapp Family Lodge. Maria helped run the hotel until her death in 1987. It continues to be run by the youngest brother and you'll find all the details here www.trappfamily.com I visited once, and the countryside is lovely.
