Just had a knock on the door and panicked a little when I saw it was a policeman.

Turned out he is signing up for the local Homewatch which can't be a bad thing round here.

Think he might have been having a bad morning, was stood on my doorstep (in full dressing gown, bed head finest) and he asked for my address, bless!

What is your local area like? Do you have anything like Homewatch or do people look out for each other or is there much need for it where you are?

We don't need an official home watch group round here because everyone is so bleedin nosy they all know everything about everyone as it is.

It is quite nice around here though, very little trouble anyway but I imagine people would look out for each other.
we dont have one but try and look out for each other. Saying that though theres a lot of garage theft and fuel theft going on at moment and when we report anything to the police they dont seem too bothered.

The policeman was wearing his dressing gown?
we live on a gated estate and have snipers postioned in strategic locations.
We have a bush telegraph and if it looks like one of the older neighbours is getting hassle at the door, we wander round to borrow a cup of sugar.
We have four houses where I live. We tend to look out for each other. Well three of us do and the other one is ostracised!!
Dont think we have anything like that.
We have good neighbours either side and look out for one another. Cant say I have met the rest of the street, it is nice where we live but not really a "community" where we all know each other.
bush telegraph ?!

whats that skippy? a little boy? trapped down a well? in oogalongawonga? cripes, bruce, we'd better rack off quicksmart. c'mon skippy.
oooo lofty tell us more, sounds like a good gossip

let me get a cup of tea

my local area is full of chav's and dole bludgers
'Neighbour from Hell' Fluffy. He can caused us in particular giant problems and even our solicitor doesn't know which way to turn next because the bloke ain't quite the ticket and is son is also loopy. He keeps accusing us of things like stealing his garden. We have been there 30+ years and he reckons we stole it before he moved in 5 years ago. Also reckons we steal his electricity. He sets traps around his property, writes us rude notes, takes photos of our visitors cars, etc. etc. Also has accused us of keeping a dangerous dog, and oh, lots of other things!! It's been a nightmare.

'He can caused us in particular giant problems' Wonderful English!!!!
By the look of those eyes he's a potential killer, lottie :)
aww, little poochy woochy.

without sounding flippant, smalll hamlet, deranged resident, sounds like a recipe for someone who might pick up a shotgun and go on the rampage.
Our close is nice apart from my semi neighbour, but it looks like he is going, along with all the fixtures and fittings including the toilet. We do have neighbourhood watch and a community police.
I blame it on the turnips Lottie ;o)
Lottie thats not a dangerous dog its a "lets be friends" dog
My two pensioner neighbours either side are my watch...NOTHING gets past them !!!! I'd get that dangerous dog Lofty and let it loose !
