The Cavern
11 Answers
Did anyone watch the programme last night about the Beatles and the Cavern? Bought back some memories of the early sixties even though I never managed to get to the Cavern. Did see the Beatles three times in Leeds though! Who was your favourite Beatle (those of you old enough to remember!)? Mine was George!

(Perhaps that's because I felt that I could identify more easily with them than more 'grown-up looking' performers?). So Peter Noone, for example, was among my favourites. That's probably why Paul was my favourite Beatle.

The whole (rebuilt) club is different today. It only occupies 75% of the original site, the entrance is in a different place, it's deeper down and the archways are at 90 degrees to the original ones:

Thanks for all the replies! Some of you are lucky to have actually been to the Cavern but to have seen the Beatles the last time they played there is amazing!!! The place didnt seem the same after the rebuilding. I was a member of the Beatles fan club and still have some monthly fan club magazines. Happy days!!
