Just watching Friends repeats on E4 (as usual!) and Chandler is trying to convince Monica he would be a good boyfriend for her, there's other instances when they talk about this too (way before they actually get together) does anyone know if the writers had planned for them to get together from the beginning?

probably planned to get them all together at some point and probably very nearly did, it did run for alot of years and they had long seasons, i know cos I bought my daughter the boxset a year\ago and she's stil wading through it.
