I do hope so, he really is so horrible and sly.
So! He's not squeaky clean, after all? Don't count on Helen's eyes being opened! I once read a quotation (can't remember who said it) that goes something like this: "It is passing strange that a woman may think a man an angel, when he hath done her much wrong."
"Tis strange what a man may do, and a woman yet think him an angel."
Wm. Makepeace Thackeray. The History of Henry Esmond.
Or to paraphrase my late mum, There's none as blind as those who cannot see. Stand by for the hysterics and meltdown if/when she ever finds out about him, will Pat come over all I told you so?
Someone, please do tell me what's happened! I missed a couple of episodes this week (urgent call to babysit granddaughter and an optician's apptmt., caught today's) and can't listen to Sunday's this weekend. Is it anything to do with the blocked culvert? I'll look for websites if necessary, but have faith ....:o) xx

Jourdain....I don't want to spoil your Sunday morning, so make sure you listen to the Omnibus Edition !

Why oh why are people continuing to make the Grundy Bros try to love each other ? ........Its all going to end in tears you know !
That's the problem this week, mikey, I can't manage to listen to Sunday's!
^^^^ Yes, mikey, the whole lovely family wedding thing could be shrapnel!
You can get it on listen again on the Iplayer.
I don't thing they're going to get rid of Rob that easy. Remember that every soap needs at least 1 baddie.

OK...here I go !

David and Jennifer went to a clandestine meeting with one of the workers at the new Mega Dairy, in a (very) cheap cafe in Borchester. He told them that he had witnessed Rob Titchener deliberately block up an important culvert, which saved the Dairy from being flooded in the Great Ambridge Flood, but was a major factor in flooding the whole Village and putting lives at risk.

David then went straight to Charlie Thomas and presented him with the accusation, without mentioning the Dairy worker, or, indeed, who the worker had identified. We must remember at this stage that Charlie was nearly drowned in the same culvert, on the night of the flood, only to be rescued by Adam Macey, his former Bit On The Side.

( I must remember to have a word with young Adam...he should have left Charlie to drown and saved us all a lot of trouble)

Now Charlie seemed genuinely to be surprised and shocked by this revelation, and immediately called Titchener in, to shed some more light. Rob denied everything of course, as expected, but I am thinking that Charlie isn't satisfied quite yet ( I might have misjudged young Charlie after all ! )

Result....Titchener in an even worse mood than normal !

In the meantime, back at the Ranch, William has finally agreed to be Edward's Best Man, with as much bad grace as he can muster, which for a Grundy is quite a lot ! It is my guess that William intends to be like Sam Gamgee, ie just a Ring Bearer. He is determined that he will Do His Duty, but he won't enjoy it. (those Grundy boys need their pants taking down and being given a sound spanking)

Tonight, all the young women of Ambridge have been sewing away like crazy, to make more bunting for Edwards and Emma's Wedding, instead of tearing the trousers off the Strippergram, like all proper Hen Parties normally do.

Oi think its somat in the water moiself !
I have to hear the omnibus as I missed a few this week, so I'm not in full possession of the facts.

However, Mikey, I do have an observation on Charlie. You say he sounded surprised at the accusation to Rob. However wasn't he the one who told Ed to keep his mouth shut about anything he found when clearing ditches adg gullies?

Hopkirk...yes you are right...I had forgotten about that. And the Awful Rob gave poor Ed the Gypsies warning last week as well !

But if Charlie knew about the supposed culvert blocking, why did he drag Awful Rob into the office to ask him to explain ?

My money is still on Awful Rob !
Thank you very much mikey - a somewhat unlikely angel! x
OK, I have listened to the omnibus now.

Charlie didn't know about the culvert being deliberately blocked, so his earlier warning to Ed wasn't about this.

I agree Mikey, I am despairing whether Helen will ever realise what Rob is really like.

If the scales finally fall from her eyes will it be after she falls pregnant?

jourdain2....Only too happy to oblige ! If you want something similar in the future, you only have to lean over a farm gate and yell !
mikey ;) xxx
He'll make sure she's pregnant. It's all about control.
Spot on, J2
