No sadder that the rest of us, patsyann!

It's Susan I want to strangle. Forever moaning and Neil is a wimp. Yes Ruth is another one I can't stand. It would be nice if a little of a more cheery story line could run. But yes love the Helen Rob saga. I listen to the Omnibus on Sunday while cooking lunch. Find myself muttering every time Rob starts his slimy behaviour. How sad am I. Lol
No sadder that the rest of us, patsyann!
Don't worry, slimy Rob will get his comeuppance - my money is on Helen having the scales fall from her eyes and getting Tom to push Rob into the Combine Harvester - not before time either!
I thought she doesn't seem to be too pleased about the pregnancy, which is strange, given the fact that she was so much in love with him when they got married. I think whatever he did to her on 'that night' has affected her more than she is letting on. She corrected Rob the other day adding the word 'step' to when Rob said he was going to be Henry's father. She needs to develop some backbone and stand up to him, but will she? He's got her where he wants her at the moment..
...yes, but what will it take to make Helen see Rob as he really is? Nobody in Ambridge - apart from maybe Charlie - can really expose him. What about a visit from his parents? They have kept a low profile up to now. Perhaps Jess can reveal all, but would it be in her interests to do so? It's all on-the-edge-of-the-chair stuff!
..and with more of Peggy's money coming Helen's way when the former pops her clogs, and the inheritance of Bridge Farm in the more distant future, Rob is playing the long game....
I still think he conned the DNA test. Will it be this Christmas' showdown?
I thought we had Rob on the cricket, but 'Feedback' on Friday ran an article on Ambridge and his innings was perfectly possible and 'refusal to walk' was sort of understood - not particularly sporting, but..... General understanding that you might do this for the team. There's always a way out for him, except for 'that night' and given time I think Helen will explain that away to herself and doubt her own reactions - tell herself she was tiddly and he didn't understand or something.

I'm now banking on a hunting accident with Henry, possibly the Boxing Day meet.
I'm in the queue for the DVD of Calendar Girls!
Mrs Antrobus must be revolving in her grave !

And that ruddy Vicar still hasn't made an appearance, and its been months since he was last heard !
Please remind me about Mrs A, Mikey. Why would she be revolving? I remember she always said Keenya instead of Kenya, as she had lived there, but otherwise, can't remember anything about her.
Mrs Antrobus was known by Joe Grundy as "that dog woman" as she bred Afghan Hounds. She was from a colonial background in Kenya and was very bossy but kind-hearted. She was very much the traditionalist and would have been horrified with the very idea of the WI taking its kit orff, even to raise money for good causes !
What did I say !
Hopkirk - I really need to reassure you. The rather revolting find of the dog's pelvis and back leg in the feed at Barrow Farm CANNOT have belonged to Scruff, OK! For a start, the operative looked down into the silo (or whatever the grain store was called) and thought he saw the remains of a rat. Remember that Scruff was a big dog - mikey reminded me - and I checked with my informant. No way that his pelvis and leg could be rat-sized.

It turns out that Mr & Mrs Appleblossom (who found Scruff) could only put the back half of him into the low oven of the Aga to dry out - they had to prop his front on a velour towel on top of a cushion. Anyway, the remains are not those of Scruff!

Didn't Mrs Antrobus sell her cottage to Roy and Hayley?
I am trying to remember Ric ! I remember that they spent the early years of their marriage living with Mrs A, and I think they lived in her annex, or afalt in her home.
Question Author
But then didn't Roy's father split the family home in two to share between Roy and his sister
Yes he did Ric......not long after Betty, his wife died.

Talking of Betty...can anyone remember when Brian Aldridge tried to get his leg over Betty ?
Rob is getting more and more controlling by the day ! Last night Helen nearly spilled the beans to the lovely Kirsty.

My theory is Rob raped Helen when she was a bit tiddly. Helen didn't want to get pregnant again quite late, so Rob upped the anti, so to speak. He has now all but taken over the setting up of the new shop, and won't let her have any input at all.

I think Kirsty should have another go !
Got her where he wants her now, pregnant with his son, preferably. Probably be born with horns!
And what lies will he be telling H's parents when she's not there to contradict him (if she'd dare to).
And where is he getting the money from that he is being so generous with? Bet there's not much left of the £10k wedding gift from Peggy.
