I'm reeling here.
Two of the programmes I always record and can't wait to watch are Emmerdale and Dynasty (the latter I was obsessed with as a young girl).
In Dynasty there is a character known as Prince Michael of Moldavia who marries Amanda Carrington, the long-lost daughter of mega-rich oil baron, Blake Carrington, before a military coup sees him and his father, King Galen, being exiled to the US.
I have watched Emmerdale for years and it is now the only British Soap I bother with. The character, Frank Clayton, is a loveable rogue and distinguished older man. I didn't like him when he first appeared in the soap but I've warmed to him now.
Doing a bit of surfin' earlier on the history of Dynasty and its characters, I was astonished to learn that Prince Michael of Moldavia (1985-86) and Frank Clayton (present) are played by the very same person - the actor, Michael Praed.
I'm totally stunned. How could I watch these two programmes daily and not recognise the same actor playing different roles, albeit 30-odd years apart?

Slightly different, LadyC.....but time transformation must have played a part I think....
MrG and I parked in a small car park. A chap was loading his boot so MrG stopped and chatted....I just waited nearby and as we left the conversation went.....
Me: Who was that chap?
MrG: .....Well actually MrG just laughed.
Me: Come on....why are you laughing...who was it?
MrG: Are you serious?! It was your ex husband....your son's father....you're pulling my leg .....but I did wonder why you didn't speak to him.
What did I do? I booked a facial and new hairdo just in case I had aged as much as he had..... :-)
