I heard Chris Moyles' rant, and from my perception, his issue was with the apparently cavalier attitude of the BBC Salaries Department to his queries, rather than whether or not he can afford to stand out of the money.
As a well-paid presenter, hs sees the attitude as one of courtesy and respect, rather than of financial hardship - that was the central plank of his tirade.
I think this was the result of his break-up with his long-term partner, and although i would agreee that this is not the platform to relieve his feelings, it is pretty human to simply be caught 'in the moment' at the wrong time and place.
The BBC regard the issue as closed - and at least it has jogged the appropriate department into action!
