Anyone else following series 4 on R4, Thursday evenings?

Series 1 was an excellent parody of Dickens but it has gone downhill ever since, with this latest series being far too silly (e.g. brain transplants into dinosaurs).

That's quite a shame but would it have been possible to maintain the original standard without it becoming too repetitive?

I agree totally. A case of a sequel too far. Total waste of acting talent.
Typical BBC. Take a good idea and do it to death.

But there are only 6 episodes per series, did it need to get so bad so quickly?
i was lucky enough to get tickets to several recordings of series one and two - but only bothered to listen to a few episodes of the third.

a pity.
I think it was a quite irrational premise to begin with. Unless the writing is exceptional these things are good for one series only. In this case the writing barely made it through one series.
