Following your response to my question about DAB radios not have a tone control I took your advice and I purchased a Veho 360 portable speaker and it has completely solved my problem. I can now listen to speach on my DAB radio and it only cost £15. Your advice is much appreciated.

Possibly because if they put something like that in the power consumption and price would become even worse that they currently are.

A basic tone control is a capacitor and a variable resister, Can't see that increasing the cost of the battery use much, if at all.

I expect it's more because they want to create the impression that DAB is a purer sound and doesn't need equalisation at all (this is purely my opinion) whereas in reality DAB radio is actually lower quality than FM radio (to get an equivalent quality to FM DAB would need to be broadcast at about 196KBS and most DAB stations are broadcast in 128KBS or lower)

I agee, DAB radios aren`t as good as FM as I bought one for the kitchen but much prefer the FM in the living room.
