SO Audrey ... (not Jodie Marsh)
24 Answers
I just read a review of a book about Audrey Hepburn.
It suggested that "SO Audrey" was the ultimate compliment.
That's totally true, isn't it?
New little black dress? That's SO Audrey!
Great new haircut? That's VERY Audrey!
Ballet pumps? SO Audrey!
A generous spirit? SO Audrey of you!
Can there be any greater compliment ???
I wonder if ... "SO Jodie" ... will ever be quite the same ?

She wasn't classically beautiful ... but she oooooozed style.
Her eyebrows were too bushy. Her eyes were too big. Her shoulders were too boney. Her teeth were a bit pointy.
BUT ...
When she got out of the taxi at the beginning of B at T, she gave the world the most iconic item of clothing EVER ... the LBD.
She had more style than any other actress ever.
And the opening scene to B at T was, without question, the most famous and iconic opening scene from any movie ever made.
It's all about style, and how you carry it off.

Paddy ... absolutely.
I have two great books about Audrey.
One is called "Audrey Style ... which is what it says on the tin.
The other is a great book called ...
"What Would Audrey Do? Timeless Lessons For Living With Grace And Style" ...
which is sort of like a Debrett's, but with reference to Audrey.

Rom Hol is such a lovely film.
It would be the iconic Audrey movie ... were it not for B at T.
Incidentally, Audrey's agent didn't want her to appear in Breakfast At Tiffany's, and refused to discuss it with the producers, who had to contact Audrey directly. They were worried that playing a call girl would be disastrous for Audrey's career.

you wouldn't really guess from B at T that she was a call girl, so they may have had a point.
Didn't she start out in Ealing comedies?
Incidentally... I don't think it's possible to have eyes that are too big. I think your eyes stay the same size through life. But babies with the biggest ones are more likely to call up the protective instinct in adults, so it's very useful evolution-wise to have big eyes.
