Am I alone in falling about laughing at Jennifer's self-righteous outburst of famiial anger about the sale of Brookfield? Suddenly, wanting money is so appalling to her! Is the green-eyed monster about to be let out?

If this deal goes through, its going to be the worst upset that Ambridge has seen in my 30 years of listening. The program is not called The Archers for nothing.
If Brookfield IS sold, and Ruth and David move oop north, I can't see how the program can continue.
But of course, Brookfield isn't going to be sold, although the scriptwriters are going very close to the wire ! I do find this story line very unconvincing and its getting terribly tiresome.
Personally, I think somebody should loosen the stair carpet and let Ruth's Mum go gently into the hereafter. And then the only real reason for the sale and move would be redundant !

It sounded to me as if Jennifer was more upset on behalf of the effect on the village. David and Ruth seem so committed now that I wonder that even if Heather ('Pet', Mikey) does fall down the stairs they will still go.

I grew up with the Archers, had to join the RMs to escape from them, then I went out with a Girl who had a Uncle that was in the Cast, and for the last 30 years have lived with an avid Archers Fan (she's a City girl) who won't let anything come between her and the Sunday morning Broadcast.
Talk about full circle!
Blackadder...I was only 2 years old at the time, so you win !
I do, however, remember listening to " Mrs Dale's Diary" on my Mum's knee. Our family were always radio people, rather than TV people. The pictures are better on the radio.
By the way...enjoying my second glass of Champagne of the day. Its Lidl Champagne, and very good indeed, especially at £9.99 a bot !
