I was thinking just that, Robert is very cunning, he always finds a way to get what he wants, in this case it's worming his way back in with Lawrence.

How stupid was Lawrence not to see through Connor in the first place, unbelievable! How opportune the Robert turned up an the right moment too. I know it's only a soap but I think the scriptwriters are have a laugh, especially after the farce that was Val's funeral.
