Time To Cull The Moggie?

Seems the thing is a viscious beast responsible for putting some species into extinction.

Should we cull them or let them make even more species extinct?

Personally I'd be glad if people didnt let their cat roam at night, one of the damned things dug up all my garlic the other night for no reason whatsoever.

That is a point, but a trap soon sorts out mice.

My two are indoor cats and always have been. Their mother was a feral cat and their litter contained kittens from a 'few' fathers. When she hunted it was to survive.

There are many people who hate cats (as you say the dig up gardens, hunt (although not always successfully) and generally wind people up.

These people will take this sort of news and use it to their advantage - which is human nature, but any time humans start tinkering with nature we make the situation much worse. Taking Bugs Bunny to Australia probably seemed like a good idea at the time.

Cats are easy to live with - just obey their every command and things will be okay.

I purchased a 'cat scarer' they don't seem to come into my garden and dig their toilets now.

I bought an electronic cat scarer, they just stood and looked at me, the dogs didn't like it though.

Cats are nocturnal animals and natural hunters.
I am not a cat lover but I can't really sympathise with this

My cats only go out to use other peoples gardens as toilets :-)

The way the neighbour's cat looks at me I know it would rip my throat out if it were big enough (just because I chuck a jug of water at it)

Would never have a cat for this very reason. I'm not sure, but I think they're not allowed out at night in Australia (or NZ) so they cannot kill birds looking for food early in the mornings.

Man's a coward, can't stand up to a Big Cat but would happily kill a domesticated moggy.

The birds have the whole of the worlds sky, cats only have a small part of land.

Remember...
Birds have SKY - Cats have Land.

Birds do have other predictors, not just Cats.
