Why Thumbnail Pics Not Displaying
I have several folders with hundreds of photos in each one . Below thumbnail photo is DSC or IMG or Ph or simply numbers. All are JPGs and open with "photos"and all file locations are the same. Why are lots of these photos not displaying (unless I click on them and select "open with"). This is time consuming if I'm looking for a specific photo. Any ideas? thanks in advance

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The problem you refer to sometimes seems to be related to OneDrive, which needs to be turned on in order for your thumbnails to show. (I've no idea why that should be though!). So try enabling OneFrive if you've currently got it turned off.
Otherwise consider refreshing Windows. You won't lose any data but you might need to reinstall any software which wasn't originally on your PC:
Go to Start > Settings > Update & security.
Select Recovery.
Select Reset PC.
Select Keep My Files and follow any prompts you see.
