I never saw him live, although I later played on a tiny stage where he had once appeared. I am prouder of that than I was at having shared a stage with 10cc, who were understandably too busy to acknowledge our existence (unlike Busy Lizzy, who were lovely and got us out of a temporary lack of stuff by donating a little chunk out of the kindness of their hearts). Coluche did a similar act for my guitarist a few years later. He built a 'carrot' on the grand piano and let my mate have the crumbs: a bit like the loaves and the fishes.
