i keep hearing/ reading that Julian Clary a few years ago about the Tory minister Norman Lamont at an award ceremony. i have never heard what he was supposed to have said. does anyone know?

If it has been edited, the action is to clench the hand into a fist, and insert into the orifice of a partner for mutual pleasure.

No, Etehl, Julian said he had been - hence the shocked silence and nervous laughter - even Johnathan Ross looked stunned! It destroyed Clarey's TV career for years, and nothing he has done since has reached a second series - so it's possible that this facet of his career may never recover.

The end of the joke ( and the whole point for saying it,) was drowned out by the laughter, but it was something along the lines of "now his box really is red".
