Jim Davidson was axed from Hells Kitchen recently, and judging by a previous post the majority of ABers seem to think that this was the right thing to do. I personally don't, if we must have Reality TV, then lets have reality.

Putting this to one side, what I ask is if this was the right thing to do in Davison's case, should not the same have happened to Trevor McDonald when he called the late Bernard Manning "a fat white bas***d?

At least Davidson insulted Brian Dowling to his face. MacDonald's insult to the recently dead Bernard Manning, was not only cowardly, and in very bad taste, but also blatantly racist (if of course a black person can be accused of being racist against a white person).

Once again never a level playing field. ITV should have given the arrogant and supercilious MacDonald the boot over his remarks too, and before anyone accuses me, yes I would also say the same to MacDonald personally given the chance.

I dont like him in the slightest and he was wrong to say what he said. But I am agreeing that if they want reality tv stop cutting and chopping bits of it, and kicking people out. show it how it is. Now that would be entertainment. He's soon be voted off anyway
He had the audacity to have a go at homosexuals when he looked and behaved like a fat mincing old queen everytime I saw him.

What an ar5e.
I agree with 4getmenot - if we are to have 'reality' shows let it reflect reality and whatever my thoughts are, a lot of people disagree with me. Does that mean I am not intitled to my opinion. I agree though I would have voted him off straight away. Did not see any of the others though
I agree with the reality bit too however, in this PC age, following the onslaught of rage over Big Brother and bullying and racist remarks, this set a presidence for everything else, so as soon as someone kicks off (which lets face it, we all want to see) they get told to stop or leave.
Blame it on the namby pamby way this country is going.

Well said Everhelpful.

Yes I think Bernard would have laughed shazzzz, but would have Trevor if the roles had been reversed and someone had called him "a pompous Black Bas***d" I think not, neither would ITV, that is the point.
