eviction
hi we have been given an eviction order, to vacate our property july22 we have been told to go to the county court and apply for a suspension of the eviction order. is there any thing we can do to gaurentee our staying in the property . cheers

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.i lost my job for about 10 weeks and couldnt pay the rent got a new job and have been paying the rent plus a bit more every week ,but work dried up for a while now back to full strength paying every week but owe a fair bit .in court on the 22 the council say they will appose thus staying there unless we can pay the full amount by the 22 other than that they say it is up to the judge
go to your local housing advice centre to check that the eviction notice has been served correctly - if it hasn' t the process will have to start over again (obviously leave it as late as possible to challenge to be a pain!). also, continue to pay extra off your rent (even if its a fiver a week, because if you do get made homeless you will be able to demonstrate you were trying to address your problems and are less likely to be made intentional. have yiou talked to your local housing office about your troubles and claimed housing benefit for the shortfall if you weren't working? if not, do this pdq...
