Does anyone else think that Emily is in need of a bloody good slap? What a rude, inconsiderate b!tch! If I acted like that at her age, my dad would have hit the roof and given me a slap (no he wasn't a child beater, kids still got smacked in my day - even 19 year olds). b Her dad needs to be more firm with her instead of hugging her and saying 'your mum is just annoyed, that's all) If she was my daughter I would chuck her out, she doesn't work and goes out all night, where is she getting the money from?? AaArrrrrrgghhhh, I could put my fist through the telly she is making me so mad!

i think the dad spoils her rotten. he only shouts at her when mum is at present.. then ... when Emily is on her own with dad.. hes really nice. i think theres a favouritism in the family. its obviously that Dad loves Emily more. And the mum loves the son more :) xx

I just posted a similar thread in Chatterbank. I was being polite really - in reality I could knock her head off her shoulders. My daughter is 23 and I have told her to watch it on C4+1 and she is incensed, she said OMG I could never be like that to you.

I admit that me and my mum used to have rows and sometimes I would reduce her to tears but I also ended up the same way! And if my dad was around, he would let it go on for so long before yelling at me and I would stop whatever it was otherwise I would get a slap!

As I said, my dad was in no way a chid beater but I got a few slaps on the back of my legs as I tried to run upstairs, even when I was Emily's age!

I wouldn't dream of saying to my mum 'I'm watching a programme' over and over again if she was trying to talk to me!! She is a vile child - all teenagers can't be like that, the younger daughter is so quiet, I don't think I've ever seen her other than in the opening credits.

I think her dad is partly to blame - where does she get the money to go out all the time? I have worked since the age of about 13 when I got a paper round. And she stays in bed all day - my parents used to hoover outside my bedroom door and generally make so much noise I would have to get up!

I actually think the mother is more immature than the children. I was completely on Emily's side last night. While watching it I was wondering if Jane is perhaps going through or starting the menopause to excuse her behaviour.
Yes I agree that Emily was rude in some instances but when jane can't even talk without shouting I'm not really surprised. And how childish to go and lock the bedroom door.
Emily was clearly crying out for help when she was in the kitchen crying and asking her mum to talk to her and then Jane just tells her to go away.
Their parenting skills are something else alright. They don't stand united so the kids gets mixed signals and it's no wonder they're a bit messed up

No I don't agree at all. I know Jane is very vacant at times but Emily had blatant disregard for her mothers things and actually lied barefaced about even having them in the first place. She then gave them back, so I think her mother had every right to lock her out of her room, after all as the dad said she'd had all day to use the bathroom. My daughter agrees as well.

Sorry cheekychops to copy your thread over on Chatterbank but at least we've had 2 lots to read. x
